Sanitation Services and Climate Resilience Across Africa and South Asia

Working with local stakeholders, government, and policy makers

Field research and policy engagement is taking place in

Improving sanitation services in these countries is a political priority, driven by their increasing economic development. Significant investments in safely managed sanitation can be expected in the near future. The choices made regarding technology and service delivery approach will critically influence the ability to minimize sanitation-related emissions and ensure resilience against climate threats. Research conducted in four countries aims to understand how emissions vary by context and to assess the resilience of sanitation services in different climates.

Developing research tools and methods

The SCARE project is developing a range of tools and methods for assessing emissions and resilience. As these are developed and tested, we will make these available on our website.
